Governor-General of Australia visits ADF personnel in the Middle East
The Governor-General of Australia, Major General Michael Jeffery, made surprise visits over the Christmas season to Australian Defence Force personnel serving in the Middle East.
Australian Defence Force personnel in the Middle East are working through the Christmas and New Year festive season as part of Operation CATALYST, Australia’s contribution to the safety, reconstruction and rebuilding of Iraq, and Operation SLIPPER, Australia's contribution to the international coalition against terrorism.
ADF personnel from cities and towns all across Australia are serving in the Middle East region.
