Chief of Air Force Visits RAAF Base Learmonth
Chief of Air Force, Air Marshal Mark Binskin, AM, has made a flying visit to RAAF Base Learmonth, in Western Australia, to meet with RAAF troops deployed there on Operation RESOLUTE.
A detachment of around 200 RAAF personnel and several AP-3C Orion Maritime Patrol aircraft were deployed to the remote base near Exmouth in early December, as the Australian Defence Force increased assets assigned to Operation RESOLUTE.
AM Binskin said that the immediate response provided by RAAF and its people have provided an increased footprint in protecting Australia’s Exclusive Economic Zone (AEEZ), and the Air Force will be maintaining the effort over Christmas.
