Opening of Haasts Bluff Police Station
The opening of the newly upgraded Haasts Bluff Police Station in a remote Northern Territory indigenous community has marked the completion for Joint Task Force 641.
Deployed to the Northern Territory in 2007 to support the Federal Government’s Intervention through Operation Outreach, Joint Task Force 641’s role has adapted to the requirements of Government to deliver a tempo of logistical support across some of Australia’s most remote and harshest landscapes.
Utilising the special relationship NORFORCE has with indigenous communities across the Northern Territory, Joint Task Force 641 eased negative concerns of the intervention while logistically supporting its various phases.
Since becoming involved in the Taskforce Themis project last year, Joint Task Force 641 has successfully coordinated the transportation of police station infrastructure and materials across the Northern Territory.
