PM Thanks Troops
Prime Minister Kevin Rudd has thanked the men and women of the defence force at a welcome home parade marking the end of their six-year mission in Iraq.  

Australian battle group on mission for children
Australian soldiers brought hope and happiness to the lives of more than 1000 children when they visited villages in southern Iraq to scope the refurbishment of schools and the construction of playgrounds worth a total of US$1.15 million. The school and playground projects were a major feature of Operation Hooper which was conducted during 17-19 September by the Australian Battle Group.
