Movers of Billabong Flats

The Logisticians and 'Movers' of the Joint Movement Coordination Centre (JMCC) detachment, located at the Force Level Logistic Asset (FLLA) known as ‘Billabong Flats’, are tirelessly working, trying to satisfy the demands placed on them to get everything coming into MEAO to those who need it.

It is high pressure work at this logistics and movements hub with the dedicated team of Australian Army and Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) personnel work 24 hours a day, seven days a week, attempting to squeeze as much as they can in.

A RAAF Air Load Team (ALT) also works with the JMCC, providing much needed support in the areas of Security including Dangerous goods, and packing up to 25 tonnes of cargo, for flights, carried out three times a week, into both theatres.

The Billabong Flats detachment also works closely with a Royal Australian Navy Liaison Officer, making sure much needed material makes its way to HMAS Stuart, allowing the crew to maintain station in the north Arabian Gulf.

With a responsibility that falls across all three services, the team at the JMCC are justifiably proud of there part in the success of the ADF in the MEAO.
