Iraq drawdown picks up pace
Australia’s drawdown from Southern Iraq is picking up pace with further logistical moves at Tallil Air Base.
Soldiers from the Overwatch Battle Group (West) and Force Extraction Team (FET) have loaded dozens of vehicles and shipping containers for return to Australia’s Force Level Logistic Asset in the Middle East.
Gusty winds and temperatures in the high 40’s make the process challenging for the diggers, who are working to move all of Australia’s troops and equipment from Tallil by mid year.
