Governor-General of Australia visits ADF personnel in southern Iraq
The Governor-General of Australia, Major General Michael Jeffery, made a surprise visit on Christmas Day to Australian Defence Force personnel serving with the Al Muthanna Task Group in southern Iraq.
Australian Defence Force personnel in the Middle East are working through the Christmas and New Year festive season as part of Operation CATALYST, Australias contribution to the safety, reconstruction and rebuilding of Iraq.
ADF personnel from cities and towns all across Australia are serving in the Middle East region.
