Multi-National Forces in the Al Muthanna Province complete important Bailey Bridge project
The Multi-National Forces in the Al Muthanna Province have completed an important bridge project at Slaibat, near Al Khidr, that links isolated communities in the south of the Province.
The bridge already caters for 200 vehicles a day and is part of an improved road and bridge network in Al Muthanna.
The Officer Commanding for Civil and Military Cooperation (CIMIC) MAJOR Ian Mattheson said the bridge was symbolic of the reconstruction effort in Al Muthanna.
The Bailey Bridge links the isolated communities to the south of the Province and is a great help to people because the next crossing point is at As Samawah, MAJ Mattheson said.
Funded by Multi-National Forces, the construction project and additional works used local employees as part of a program that aimed to improve conditions in the region, he said.
