Iraqi Olympic Team
The Australian Defence Force has flown the Iraqi Olympic team from Baghdad to start their journey to the Athens Olympic Games, Defence Minister Robert Hill and Foreign Affairs Minister Alexander Downer announced today. A Royal Australian Air Force C-130 Hercules aircraft lifted the 48-member team from Baghdad International Airport amid tight security earlier today. The team was flown to meet connecting flights into the 2004 Olympic city under Operation Iraqi Spirit.
