Chief of Defence Force attends the Iraqi Coastal Defence Force graduation ceremony

Over the last seven months the Royal Australian Navy has been conducting initial training with the new Iraqi Coastal Defence Force (ICDF) and the official graduation ceremony at the Iraqi port city of Umm Qasr in southern Iraq on the 30th September 2004 marked the successful completion of this training.

The ICDF will now commence an operational training period to commence policing its coastline, waterways, ports, and vital oil terminals situated in the Northern Persian Gulf.
