Disaster Management planning day
Members from the International Stabilisation Force (ISF) recently participated in an East Timorese Government sponsored Disaster Management planning day.
The event was held in Dili, East Timor. Participants included representatives from a number of Government departments, United Nations agencies, Non-Government Organisations, the East Timor Defence Force, the National Police Force, Fire Brigade and the ISF.
The desktop exercises included the collection and dissemination of information, warning methods and coordination processes as well as identifying agency responsibilities and other planning requirements.
Approximately 50 people took part in the daytime exercise and attendees were organised into related-agency syndicates in order to get the best value from the exercise.
