The entertainers have a familiarisation ride in an M113 Armoured Personnel Carrier (APC)
Tour de Force 16 entertainers got the ride of their life in Dili, East Timor recently, when they had the opportunity to have a familiarisation ride in an M113 Armoured Personnel Carrier (APC).
The entertainers, including Ian “Dicko’ Dickson, comedian Jeff Green, Australian Idol contestant Mark Spano, music legend Ian Moss and guitarist Jonathan Zion, were shown the finer points of the APC’s by members of Timor-Leste Battle Group VI, serving with the International Stabilisation Force in East Timor.
The troops from 1st Armoured Regiment, based in Darwin, were very keen to demonstrate the APC’s and give the visitors a first hand once-over of the vehicles.
A few laps around the Helicopter Point of Departure (HPOD), gave the visitors a different perspective of the meaning of ‘off road’ and a new appreciation for the comforts of modern vehicles.
