Hot Game of gaelic footy in East Timor

Gaelic football isn’t usually associated with hot and humid conditions, but that is what greeted players in East Timor recently.

Members of the International Stabilisation Force (ISF) fought it out on Sunday morning at Dili Stadium.

Teams comprised personnel from both Support Company and Logistics Company, both from Timor Leste Battle Group V (TLBG V).

In what was a hard-fought and hot game in its own right, the eventual winners were Support Company with a final score of 33 – 9.

Commanding Officer of the Battle Group, Lieutenant Colonel Darren Huxley, was joined by the Commander of the ISF, Brigadier Bill Sowry, to watch the teams compete.

The game was enjoyed by fellow members of the Battle Group as well as a few local East Timorese who wandered into the stadium to see what all the noise was about.

Private Kober from Support Company was man of the match.
