International Stabilisation Force handover


Brigadier Bill Sowry takes command of the International Stabilisation Force (ISF) in East Timor during a parade in Dili. Brigadier Sowry replaces Brigadier Mark Holmes, MVO who has led the Australian and New Zealand force since July 2008.

The parade was attended by Joint Task Force headquarters and Timor Leste Battle Group 5 personnel, Australian Head of Mission and other guests. Brigadier Sowry will serve in East Timor as part of Operation ASTUTE for the next nine months.
