Joint Task Force 631 celebrates Melbourne Cup
Joint Task Force 631 celebrated the Melbourne Cup with a Calcutta held at Camp Phoenix the night before "the Race that stops the Nation".
The Calcutta consisted of six races, with enthusiastic bidding for each and every horse. In one bidding war, Corporal Larissa Porter pushed the bidding up to $25, only to declare she didn't have that much money anyway.
The roll of the dice appeared to favour Corporal Meleisha Morrison, with a first and a couple of minor placings making her the most successful owner/jockey on the night.
