International Stabilisation Force Refurbishes School in East Timor
As part of its role in East Timor, The International Stabilisation Force (ISF) conducts approved capacity building engineering activities which are designed to improve local infrastructure and contribute to the peace and prosperity of East Timor. School refurbishments have become a major focus of such engineering tasks.
The Civil Military Liaison team facilitates discussions between ISF, the East Timor Government and the local community so mutually beneficial capacity building projects can be identified and achieved.
The engineers of ISF assisted in refurbishing the school at Quelicai as it urgently needed a new roof. The refurbishment included repainting some of the school’s blackboards. The school now has a brand new corrugated iron roof.
This refurbishment will enhance the school children’s educational experience for the new year as well as provide shelter for the wet season.
