ISF v UN cricket match in Dili

Australian and New Zealand soldiers from the International Stabilisation Force (ISF) have beaten a UN cricket team in the latest clash of sporting skills held at Dili stadium.

The 20/20 game was part of a series of sporting events organised between the ISF and the UN. The UN team won the toss and elected to bat on a flat, but challenging wicket.

In the searing midday heat the UN started off slowly, constrained by some tough ISF bowling before starting to open up at the 15th over mark. The UN team scored 50 runs in the last five overs to give them a total of 6 for 144 off their 20 overs.

After a rocky start with the loss of an early wicket, the ISF team soon settled into a nice pace. The highlight of their innings was an over in which the ISF belted the UN attack for 27 runs off one over.

In the end, the ISF managed to achieve 145 runs in 9 overs for the loss of only four wickets and 11 overs to spare.
