Head of RAMSI visits the Christian Care Centre in Honiara
The Head of the Regional Assistance Mission to the Solomon Islands (RAMSI), Special Coordinator Graeme Wilson, has visited a Christian Care Centre in Honiara.
The Centre had been renovated by members of the RAMSI military component after it was damaged by white ants.
The Centre provides a safe haven for women who have been victims of rape, sexual assault and domestic violence - about 100 women annually.
The Centre is home to a group of experienced counsellors, and also helps in the reconciliation and rehabilitation of couples. Members of the Combined Task Force helped renovate the Centre after it was forced to close for safety reasons.
