Tour De Force Solomon Islands 5

Army Reservists from New South Wales’ 8 Brigade currently serving on Operation Anode enjoyed a visit from Perth based singer Julie Kember, Anthony Cormicon, Tull Kidron, Chris Radburn, Brett Nichols and Newcastle band Solver as part of Tour de Force 15.

The entertainers donated their time free of charge and are maintaining a long-established show business tradition that predates the Vietnam War. The enthusiasm and performances of the Australian entertainers, and the opportunity to meet with ADF members between shows, has been a major factor in maintaining the morale of the men and women who are far from home, serving on Operation Anode.

Operation Anode is Australia’s contribution to Australian-led Regional Assistance Mission to Solomon Islands (RAMSI). RAMSI's assistance is known as Operation HELPEM FREN (Pidgin English for 'Helping Friend'). RAMSI's mission is to assist the Solomon Islands Government in restoring law and order, economic governance, and improving the machinery of government.
