RAAF Tindal action during Exercise Talisman Saber 09
RAAF Base Tindal, near Katherine in the Northern Territory, has been paying host to a large contingent of Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) and United States Air Force (USAF) aircraft for Exercise Talisman Saber 09 - a major biennial training exercise aimed at improving interoperability between Australian and US forces.
A No 6 Squadron F-111 taxis out to runway at RAAF Tindal, for the final sortie of Exercise Talisman Saber 09. The mission may well be the final time the F-111 takes off from RAAF Tindal with bombs onboard, as the type is being retired from service in 2010.
