TS09 Air Traffic Controllers

Talisman Saber 2009 involved hundreds of aircraft movements taking place around the Shoalwater Bay Training Area during the exercise. Ensuring the safe passage of aircraft and their crew is a complicated task that is coordinated by the Joint Battlefield Airspace Controller.

No 44 Wing, Air Traffic Control from the Royal Australian Air Force fulfills this role of coordinating airspace in the area of operation as well as organising and providing air support for Army activities in the battle space.
