Samuel Hill, Shoalwater Bay
Australian and American service personnel capped off a successful Exercise Talisman Saber 2009 with a sports afternoon at Samuel Hill in the Shoalwater Bay Training Area near Rockhampton.
Teams of soldiers from Australia’s 1st BDE competed in pairs with U.S. soldiers and Marines in tasks that included carrying full jerry cans over distance, pushing Humvees, reassembling riles and leg races.
The afternoon concluded with a BBQ and an opportunity to share stories before returning home.
