Joint Forces Revitalise Chapel

Saint Christopher's Chapel in Nerimbera near Rockhampton, Queensland is an open air Chapel built by American Personnel based in the Rockhampton area during World War Two. More than sixty years on, the Chapel is still has significance to American Servicemen visiting the area during the biennial Exercise Talisman Sabre. Along with Australian Defence Force volunteers, a contingent of US Service personnel spent the day working side by side with members of the local Sub Branch of the Returned and Services League of Australia to carry out maintenance on the Chapel site. The works included preparation and painting of the building, benches and fences in addition to building new benches and a general clean up of the grounds.
