Talisman Saber 09
Marines from Marine Expeditionary Unit 31 attached to USS Essex, USS Tortuga, and USS Denver land on Freshwater Bay Beach in Queensland.
Amphibious Assault Vehicles on tracks drove out of the beach to position themselves for the joint exercise with Australian forces, Talisman Saber 2009.
US Navy Landing Craft Air Cushion units delivered the Lighter Amphibious Resupply Cargo units, as well as Humvee all-terrain vehicles.
The Marines are expected to assault Samuel Hill within the Shoalwater Bay Training Area as part of the exercise.
