AP-3C Orions from 11 Squadron at RIMPAC 2010

11 Squadron (RAAF Edinburgh) deployed two AP-3C Orions and 93 personnel to RIMPAC 2010 which is the largest maritime military exercise of its kind in the world.

The AP-3C Orion missions during RIMPAC 10 included firing a Harpoon missile (MISSILEX) Undersea Warfare
(USW), Surface Warfare (SUW) and Maritime Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (MISR).

Exercise RIMPAC is the Australian Defence Force’s (ADF) largest international maritime exercise, conducted in the area surrounding Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. RIMPAC is designed to test interoperability with 14 Pacific Rim nations, including the United States, South Korea, Indonesia and Canada. Approximately 1200 ADF personnel will be participating in the exercise which will run through to the 1st August 2010.
