Aviation Museum tour provides WWII reminder

Personnel from HMAS Kanimbla, including 817 Squadron visited the Pacific Aviation Museum at Pearl Harbor.

They are deployed in Hawaii for Exercise RIMPAC 2010.

Aircraft and personnel from 817 Squadron are currently attached to HMAS Kanimbla providing aviation support for the exercise.

This is scheduled to be the final RIMPAC for 817 Squadron's Sea King helicopters which retire from service in late 2011.

Pacific Aviation Museum on historic Ford Island occupies World War II-era hangars which still bear the scars of the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor in 1941.
