PACIFIC PARTNERSHIP
24 August 2010 Australian Defence Force (ADF) personnel assigned to Pacific Partnership 2010 (PP10) depart Dili, East Timor today following successful completion of the two-week humanitarian assistance mission as part of the annual US led endeavour. Working within the 1000-strong PP10 team the twenty-five ADF personnel embarked in USNS Mercy and HMA Ships Labuan and Tarakan have worked alongside US military personnel, East Timorese Defence force personnel as well as fellow Australians assigned to the International Stabilisation Force (ISF) and the Defence Co-operation Program (DCP). Humanitarian assistance efforts included engineering, medical, dental, veterinary and community service projects in various regions within East Timor. The PP10 mission marks the fifth year of Australian support, and will provide engineering and medical assistance in Vietnam, Cambodia, Indonesia, East Timor and Papua New Guinea |
