PACIFIC PARTNERSHIP
17 August 2010 ADF personnel assigned to PP10 have been conducting surgeries onboard USNS Mercy whilst in East Timor. Working in the eleven operating theatres in the hospital ship anchored in Dili harbour, they have conducted approximately fifty surgical procedures since the commencement of the mission almost a week ago. Surgical procedures have ranged from minor plastic surgery to opthamology and hernia repair. The PP10 mission marks the fifth year of Australian support, and will provide engineering and medical assistance in Vietnam, Cambodia, Indonesia, East Timor and Papua New Guinea. |
