Pitch Black 2010
04 August 2010 Both air-to-air and ground refuelling is a vital component for aircrews operating during Exercise Pitch Black. The Republic of Singapore Air Force KC-135 tanker is providing the air-to-air refuelling capability for the jets operating during the exercise. Members from both the RAAF Base Darwin and Tindal Fuel Farms provide ground refuelling after each mission with the assistance of augmentees from the Royal New Zealand Air Force. |

| 10-0500-133 Ex Pitch Black was held over the period 16 July to 6 August 2010 at RAAF Darwin. The exercise involves the Royal New Zealand Air Force, the Royal Australian Air Force, the Republic of Singapore Air Force and the Royal Thai Air Force. The exercise provides the oppourtunity for the various forces to work together in air exercises as well as for ground support trades to work together. Ground support trades from the NZDF involved with Ex Pitch Black include Aviation Refuellers, Air Security, Military Working Dog unit, Chefs, Aircraft Technicians, Avionic Technicians, Communication specialists, Suppliers and Movers.
