Pitch Black 2010

Jets take off

Hardly a cloud in the sky but there is thunder in the air as military jets from Australia, Singapore and Thailand take to the skies over the Northern Territory. The F/A-18 Hornets, F-16 Falcons and the F-111's are operating from Darwin during Exercise Pitch Black as part of a 'blue' force. At RAAF Tindal near near Katherine 'red' air, that includes Mk127 Hawks and F/A-18 Hornets, are operating as the enemy forces.
