Solomon Islands Rotation 22 Draws to a Close

Combined Task Force (CTF) 635 conducted a Hand-over/ Take-over parade on 2nd December 2010 for Rotations 22 and 23 in Solomon Islands. CTF 635 is in Solomon Islands in support of Regional Assistance Mission to Solomon Islands (RAMSI).

Rotation 22 is comprised of ADF Reservists from 8/7 Royal Victoria Regiment and 4/19 Prince of Wales Light Horse in Victoria has conducted a handover to Rotation 23 comprised of members of 9th Brigade from South Australia and Tasmania.

Rotation 22 has just completed a four month deployment and a Homecoming Parade will be held for them on Sunday, 5th December 2010 in Laverton, Victoria.

RAMSI’s mission is to assist the Solomon Islands government in the maintenance of security, law and justice, economic governance and improving the machinery of government.

Other nations involved in the military contingent include elements of the Tonga, New Zealand and Papua New Guinea defence forces.
