AFL clinic assists Solomon Islanders

Members of Combined Task Force (CTF) 635 are providing continual assistance to the Solomon Islands as part of Operation Anode. CTF635, the ADF’s contribution to the Regional Assistance Mission to the Solomon Islands (RAMSI), aims to act as a deterrent to destabilizing elements in order to maintain a stable environment for the implementation of capacity development programmes. This involves visiting schools, villages, markets, sporting grounds and rural communities to interact with the locals and provide food, water, stores and education.

ADF personnel also provide security to support the Participating Police Force and the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force. Rotation 20 is predominately manned by reservists from Western Australia’s 13 Brigade. Fifteen countries are involved in helping the Solomon Islands rebuild.
