Memorial Service for Private Jamie Clark

Australian soldiers serving on Operation Anode have paid their respects to Private Jamie Clark in a touching memorial service in Solomon Islands. Members of Combined Task Force 635 and special guests from RAMSI, the High Commission, and the Police Forces converged to remember the 21 year old. Private Clark was on patrol searching for possible weapon caches when he fell into a sinkhole and died on 10 March 2005. Private Clark was posted to 3 RAR where he was selected for service on Operation Citadel in East Timor, and deployed to the Solomon’s with Bravo Company in January 2005. The service also recognized AFP Officer Adam Dunning, who was shot and killed six years ago, and three local police personnel.

CTF635, the ADF’s contribution to the Regional Assistance Mission to the Solomon Islands (RAMSI), aims to act as a deterrent to destabilizing elements in order to maintain a stable environment for the implementation of capacity development programmes.
