Australian Medical Task Force Completes Aid Mission

The Australian Medical Task Force (AMTF) has successfully completed its medical aid mission in Pakistan.

Comprising approximately 180 Defence and civilian doctors, nurses, paramedics and support personnel, the AMTF has provided primary medical aid to flood affected people of Kot Addu in Punjab’s Muzaffargarh district since 02 September.

Since the AMTF opened its doors over 11,000 flood affected people have received much needed medical treatment.

The conditions in Kot Addu have since improved to the extent that local authorities no longer consider Australian support necessary and the AMTF is returning to Australia now that the immediate effects of the floods have eased.
