The Governor of Punjab Visiting Camp Cockatoo
The Australian Medical Task Force are operating a health centre in Kot Addu in response to the devastating July 2010 Pakistan floods. The Health Centre is a joint operation between the Australian Government's military and civilian branches to provide primary health care to the local population.
The recent floods damaged existing health facilities in the region of Kot Addu. Australian has been invited by the Pakistan Government to provide temporary health care while those facilities are restored.
The Health Centre at Kot Addu is in addition to a $35 million package of Australian assistance following the floods to support the immediate relief efforts of UN agencies, the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movements and non-government organisations.
