TACREX Exercise increases the East Timor Defence Force's capability

International Stabilisation Force (ISF) soldiers have conducted a Tactical Rotary Wing Exercise (TACREX) to enhance the capability of the East Timor Defence Force (F-FDTL). Elements of the ISF and the F-FDTL simulated a joint company assault of an abandoned prison complex in Manatuto, with 8/9 Royal Australian Regiment’s Alpha Company as the lead.

The ADF contributes over four hundred troops to operations in East Timor. The ISF operate at the invitation of the Government of East Timor, working in support of the United Nations, to maintain stability and provide a secure environment for the ongoing development of the country.
