After 8 months of effective service in Uruzgan, Afghanistan, the members of Mentoring Task Force one (MTF-1) were able to go home.
The final parade occurred on Wednesday 20th October at the Multi National Base in Tarin Kot, where the MTF-1 flag was replaced by the MTF-2 Flag. This signified the transfer of authority from LTCOL Mark Jennings (CO MTF-1) to LTCOL Darren Huxley (CO MTF-2).
The parade was attended by Commander JTF633, Major General John Cantwell; Brigadier General Zafar Khan (Commander 4th Afghan National Army Brigade), and Colonel Jim Creighton (Commander Combined Team Uruzgan).
Although the Relief in place occurred throughout October the parade signified the completion of the MTF-1 deployment.
