The Afghan National Army's 4th Brigade achieved another milestone on 26 July 2010 following the successful firing of D30 Howitzer artillery guns at the heavy weapons range inside the Multi-National Base in Tarin Kowt.
The 4th Brigade "Gunners" underwent months of training and gunnery drills under the tutelage of Australian artillerymen from the 1st Mentoring Task Force prior to the test fire mission.
The event marked the inaugural firing of artillery by the 4th ANA Brigade and proved another capability in the 4th Brigade's arsenal.
The event was attended by Commander of the 4th ANA Brigade, Brigadier Hamid and the Commander of the Combined Team Uruzgan, US Colonel Jim Creighton.
