Troops in Afghanistan raise funds for Legacy
Approximately 200 members of the Australian Defence Force, Australian Federal Police, and other Australian Government organisations gathered at Camp Baker, Kandahar, to commemorate ANZAC Day and to raise money for Legacy. The silent auction was the idea of Federal Agent Peter Kowal of the Australian Federal Police, who arranged for one jersey from each AFL team, signed by the their team captain and donated for this charity event. After some energetic and entertaining bidding, the winners (pictured with the Senior ADF Officer in Kandahar, Colonel Bruce Murray) combined to raise just under US$5000.00.
