Eleven Young Afghan Men Graduated from the Trade Training School Basic Tiling Course

The Trade Training School (TTS), established in 2006 by the First Reconstruction Task Force (RTF1), has graduated another round of young Afghan men from the three week tiling course.

The course, which is a module of the three month basic construction course, teaches the trainees how to prepare, cut, lay and glue tiles.

As part of the course, participants renovated an existing room at the School and transformed it into a dining room. The new dining room now has a perfectly tiled floor, fresh paint and feature walls at either end of the room.

Over the past four years the over 200 young Afghan men from the Tarin Kot area have graduated from the TTS.

Many of the TTS graduates now have jobs with Provincial Government departments, military, and local and international construction contractors in Tarin Kot and elsewhere.

The 1st Mentoring Task Force view is to eventually transfer the school to the Afghan Government for future employment and development opportunities in Uruzgan.
