Chief of Army visits the Special Operations Task Group

The Chief of Army Lieutenant General (LTGEN) Ken Gillespie visited the Special Operations Task Group (SOTG) during his recent visit to Tarin Kot in Afghanistan. Accompanied by the Commander of the SOTG and Regimental Sergeant Major of the Army, Warrant Officer Stephen Ward, LTGEN Gillespie was shown a live fire and compound clearance demonstration conducted by an element of the Afghan National Security Forces. Australian Special Forces train members of the Afghan National Security Forces and partner with them on operations in order to deny the influence of the Taliban and provide stability and security in the region.
