Operation Takht (reconstruction)
Operation Takht is the name given to a range of development and reconstruction projects in Uruzgan Province being conducted by the First Mentoring Task Force (MTF1).
MTF1 works with other Australian government agencies in reconstruction and development efforts and also works closely with Dutch forces and the Afghan government on initiatives and projects in Tarin Kot, Chorah, Baluchi, and Mirabad to bring economic benefits to the people of Uruzgan.
Some of these projects include the construction of schools, community centres, health centres, bridges, roads, market places, small scale hydro-electric plants, and water pumps and bores.
