Afghan National Army efforts rewarded

Members of the 2nd Mentoring and Reconstruction Task Force (MRTF-2) worked closely with engineers from the Afghan National Army to construct Patrol Base Wali in Mirabad, Uruzgan Province.

The patrol base, which is to the east of Tarin Kot, has helped stabilise the area and given the ANA and ISAF forces a permanent presence in the region.

A parade, attended by ANA commanders, Australian and Dutch forces, was held at Mirabad to recognise the efforts of the ANA engineers who helped build the patrol base, with each soldier presented with certificates detailing the competencies they gained.
