Australian and Afghan soldiers patrol in the Mirabad Valley
A recent shura held with people in the Mirabad Valley Region, has helped pave the way for further development in the area.
Shuras are meetings that include local leaders and are critical to gain awareness of the population’s concerns.
Commanding Officer of the Second Mentoring and Reconstruction Task Force, Lieutenant Colonel Andrew Hocking, said shuras are the best way to understand the needs of the local population and work with them to improve their lives.
