Bridge Build

Between the 20th and 25th of December, Engineers , with assistance from the Combat Service Support Company, conducted critical repairs to a bridge over the Teri Rud in the Nayak area, just south of Patrol Base Wali.

The bridge was in poor repair and being the only dry crossing point for local nationals in the area, it was identified as a good task to build goodwill with the community.

Engagement with key leaders in the area confirmed that they would be very appreciative of this work.

The piers were in reasonable condition, so they were kept and only the superstructure was replaced with a sturdier design, which would also be less prone to being washed away when the bridge was overflowed.
