Lifeline
Ben Harper
Virgin Records
LIFELINE is old school Ben Harper.
Everything you loved about the Ben Harper of the early 90s is in this album, with the sound of Live from Mars. Lifeline was recorded in Paris over a week, without the aid of computer technology. It’s hauntingly moody, acoustic and dare I say, sedate. Well worth a spin in the CD draw.

The Reminder
Feist
Universal records
If you’ve seen the Ebay ad with people frolicking in the snow you’ve heard Feist.
The French Canadian singer sounds like most of the alternative female French singers: Emilie Symon, Carla Bruni and Camille, but with a sweet, quirky twist.
Her lyrics are beautiful – almost tale-like and her happy tunes are guaranteed to make an impact on the first listen. |
