No training, no ROMAN

As a user of the Defence finance system, ROMAN, you are looking forward to stage one of the upgrade in November, when it will be “business as usual”, right? Wrong.
“The policy for the new system is no training, no log-on, so all users will need to have completed their required training to obtain access to the new ROMAN before it goes live,” Audrey Ray of the ROMAN Upgrade Project said.
“Users need to be aware that access to the existing ROMAN will cease on the implementation of stage one in November,” she said.
“While this will make quite a difference to the look and feel of ROMAN, most financial processes won’t change.
“Given the significant change to the ‘look and feel’, every ROMAN user will require updated training before the new ROMAN is introduced.”
The ROMAN training program is being refreshed as part of the project to support the new system. New training will be delivered through a combination of instructor-led training and eLearning, and will provide updated courses as well as introducing a range of flexible delivery options for future training.
The new courses will be delivered via CAMPUS, although they will also be available on CD.
To assist users with the transition, a volunteer change agent network known as Local INformation Coordinators (LINCs) has been established. There are more than 100 LINCs throughout Australia, and in London, Butterworth and Washington.
If users have any questions about the project, they are encouraged to contact their local LINC or email the project team at ROMANUpgrade@drn.mil.au
Information on the proposed training program and the LINC network is available at http://intranet.defence.gov.au/ciogweb/sites/RomanUpgrade |
