With a Federal election imminent, the Australian Electoral Commission (AEC) is working to ensure that Service personnel are correctly registered to vote.
The AEC’s enrolment/change of address site is now linked to both the Defence and Defence Housing Authority websites.
A national enrolment stimulation program has been undertaken, according to AEC’s Andrew Moyes.
“This is to ensure as many eligible voters as possible are on the electoral roll at the correct address,” he said. “It’s also likely to pick up members of the ADF who don’t live on-base.”
In divisions where there are Defence establishments, the AEC Divisional Office will ensure orderly rooms have the required information and forms for members.
