Exercise Albatros Ausindo 2007 was a combined Air Force maritime surveillance exercise, held off the coast of Darwin, involving an 11SQN AP-3C and a Boeing 737 Surveiller from the Indonesian Air Force’s 5SKN.

“Every mission was different and had a number of elements that go into making it successful, such as support from intelligence, operations, crew lead and maintenance members,” – FLTLT Paul Mutzelburg, co-pilot

“The exercise provided a great opportunity to discuss our similar and differing roles on board our aircraft. You can really learn a lot from exercises such as Albatros Ausindo,” – SGT Peter Simms, flight engineer

“It’s great being a part of Crew 3 at 11 Squadron. You really have a sense of achievement when the team of 13 on an Orion crew come together to conduct a mission,” – FLGOFF Chris Pendleton, air combat officer
