If you think you could fulfil the responsibility of commissioned rank, have a good conduct record, are medically fit, have achieved above average performance reporting in your PARs, and possess passes in English and three other academic subjects at Year 12 level (or equivalent), then commissioning could be for you. Receiving your commission offers you a new and exciting challenge, a chance to take on a new career, develop your management skills and open up more career opportunities. Applications for appointment to officer are open to all Permanent and Reserve members. How to apply: There is no longer any need to wait for a message calling for applications, as commissioning applications are received all year around. All you need to do is complete and submit form PE063–Application by Serving Members for Appointment as an Officer to DP-AF through your CO. Your application needs to include certified true copies of your Year 12 certificate, any academic transcripts, trade certificates (if relevant to your application), your record of Service and a copy of your resume, in addition to your three most recent PARs. Where to from there? DP-AF will advise you of any testing and interview requirements and arrange the Officer Selection Board. If you are recommended at Board, you will be considered in competition against all other applicants recommended for the same specialisation. The number of offers is dependent on the number of available positions, which are set for each financial year. -For more information, refer to DI(AF) PERS 1-7–Appointment of Serving Members as Officers or contact FLTLT Kelly Fankhauser on (02) 6265 2228 or FLTLT Allan Weller on (02) 6265 1425. Further information is also available on Air Force People Central. |
